Ayesha Takia

Ayesha takia

Bollywood never had paucity for young talents. Ayesha Takia is one of those rising young stars of Bollywood. She has all the ingredients to roll the ball and get all the pins.

She was born on 10th April 1986, in Mumbai, to a Gujarati father and half British, half Maharashtrian mother. This mixed cultural background influenced her a lot. They mostly spoke English at home and this made her less comfortable with other Indian languages; so that she had to learn to diction in Hindi and Telugu to be able to act in movies in these languages. But these glitches weren’t good enough to let her down while she rode to the stardom.

Everybody loved this lovely talented and frisky girl. Most of her friends think that the reason behind her for being a pure vegetarian is her deep affection for animals. She love animals and loves to help those who help animals.

She began showing her talents from the very tender age. She was chosen for an ad movie when she was only four years old, after this she never had to look back, she added several ad movies to her credit before she got selected to act in a Phalguni Pathak video called ‘Meri chunar ud ud jae’ which turned out to be a groundbreaking hit of that year. After that she signed for another indipop song video called ‘Shake it daddy’-she had shaken it pretty well indeed; good enough to get her face to the group of familiar faces that we often see on small screen. As a familiar face in TV and modeling world, her entry to Bollywood was all set.

Ayesha’s first signed film was ‘Socha Na Tha’ with Dharmendra’s nephew Abhay Deol, before this project even got started she signed another movie called ‘Taarzan: The Wonder Car’. But since her first signed project caught some wind and got delayed ; ‘Taarzan: The Wonder Car’ became her first movie to release in theatres. Though wonder car failed to show wonders in the box office; it won her Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004.The failure of her first movie, instead of becoming a blemish on her career, fueled her to the top and she signed few more movies in that period.

In 2006, an Indian TV channel, Zoom, conducted a poll ‘50 most Desirable Women Alive in India’, she was polled as one of the topmost among other big names.

Recently, she turned a movie offer down, a project called ‘Neal and Nikki’ due to the excess of skin show, which the director demanded for this movie. This is an indication of her longing to stay away from that kind of a skin-shower image and move more towards a point were people would call her a good potential actress. A point only few of her kind aim for and still very few has the potential for.

Aamir khan and Shahrukh Khan are her favourite actors and she finds many things in Sridevi and Rani Mukherjee to get inspired from. She won Star Screen Award for Best Actress (critics) in 2006 and Stardust Best Supporting Actress Award in 2007 for her role in the movie ‘Dor’. Her Telugu movie was released in 2005 named ‘Super’. Acting in Telugu was a different experience for her altogether. She loved the Telugu experience and revealed her intentions to act in more Telugu movies.

A thorough professional and talented beautiful young thing, still keeping that friendly ‘girl next door image’-everybody’s favorite, she has just begun and is placed as a rising star in the horizon of not only Bollywood film industry but also in the hearts of millions of fans in India and abroad.
